VCS creates an environment where our students have the opportunity of experiencing the college lifestyle, while having the added support of a primary therapist, addiction counselor, professional staff, and personal mentor, to help them advance their potential and continue their sobriety. VCS gives the student who seeks advancement in life the tools and emotional skills to truly understand who they are and what they are capable of accomplishing.
In effort to help our students understand and achieve their full potential, VCS provides a full continuum of care and individual opportunities to assist our students in their academics endeavors, community involvement, and emotional growth. VCS believes the first few years of college are the most difficult and influential for young adults who struggle with their personal sobriety and/or other emotional obstacles. Therefore, VCS has created many individual opportunities and program requirements for our students to fulfill in effort to facilitate academic success, community involvement, and interpersonal confidence. Our students have many personal responsibilities and requirements to help educate themselves on how to function consistently and successfully in life as a college student, employee, family member, and peer without the influence of drugs or alcohol.
VCS implements an interpersonal model to our approach. There is a common thread of personal investment and experiential activities between each of our student and therapists.
Therapy is all about relationships. VCS spends a significant amount of time creating a solid foundation for our students to stand on as they experience the normal temptations of individual autonomy in a college or university setting.
